Anyone Else Experiencing Stress Induced Weight Gain And May Feel Like It's A Waste To Keep Trying While Caregiving?
I feel that I'm in burnout mode. Haven't been to the gym in 3 wks. Tired when that alarm goes off at 5 am to go...so i don't. Body is out of whack and the inflammation is real. Have a beautiful pool at home and at the moment i watch the grands in it...i have no energy. It's not all from caregiving...had THAT TALK with hubby this morning!!
I'm gaining weight and he is loosing it. I've always been an emotional eater. Trying to get him to eat more I find myself grazing. I can't leave him for long periods so the gym or a quiet walk is… read more
I Heard About This New ALZ Vaccine. What Is This All About?
What is it all about ? is it for our family members to cure them or is it for us the family members who could get it and have the genes predisposed to getting it and should I ask about getting it when it goes to human trials?
@A myALZteam Member....there is familial Alz and also a specific gene folks can be tested for,,,.,these both make heredity possible in some cases.
Has Anyone Experienced Significant Weight Loss With Their Loved One Even Though They Eat Very Very Well?
Owen is in late stage Alzheimer’s. In the last 4 or 5 months he has lost 13 lbs. 10% of his body weight.
He literally eats like a horse with no changes over this time period. I read about cachexia which is when the body doesn’t absorb nutrients properly anymore. Supplements seem to agitate him. Have you experienced this and what did it mean to you? Did it continue, find a level? Improve?
Thank you.
Mary
My husband has lost some weight over the past year and he eats 3 meals a day. He eats everything on his plate. His legs are losing muscle. He doesn't get enough exercise and is in late stage now.

Inside The Mind
My dad is 90 and in his 10th year of Alzheimer's. He lives in an assisted living facility with my 89 yr. old mom (his only connection to reality). He still has his endearing personality (through little quips and childlike comments), and is so kind to everyone he sees. But, he does not seem to understand how to perform the most basic activities anymore or understand what he is to be doing from one moment to the next. He doesn't know what goes on his toothbrush and asks what he is to do next after… read more

Does Anyone Else’s LO Have Pain In Their Legs?
My husband has bad pain in his right leg when he walks. He grimaces and signs a lot, even when sitting. Sometimes I have to help him to the bathroom. Also, his foot swells and turns blue. I am going to call his doctor today but was wondering if anyone else’s LO has experienced this.
