Lucia, My mother was extremely sensitive to touch. I was never sure how much was attributable to actual pain. I found it best to be sure she knew I was about to touch her and where. She was verbal so that made it easier. Dressing was difficult due to arthritic pain but bending limbs was a problem. We treated her joints with Voltaren which helped with the joint pain.

My sister has Az m, and in a nursing home. She is rigid and complains when moved.I think it is part of her disease, but I am not sure…

My husband was confined to bed the last two weeks of his life and when he was bathed or changed, he moaned and resisted.
