Are There Any Personal Trackers Available ?
I'm looking for a tracking device that my dad can wear. It would preferably be autonomous. Not needing dad to operate it as learning a new skill is futile.
I had a set of medical ID dog tags made for dad. After serving in the military he doesn't think it strange to wear. The tags reads "dementia" on one side and the other side has address and three phone numbers. I hope someone would think to look at them if we ever get separated. I have tried a note in his wallet but he never would leave it in there.
There are a number of personal tracking devices. The one I have tested, is easy to get and use with out a contract is Great Call. You can pick it up at walmart and with the smart phone app you can see where your dad is at all times. It has a button for your dad to press for help, is waterproof (can wear in shower) and is connected to the cell network so it does not require a cell phone for connection and will work both in and out of the home.
It was so accurate in tracking that I even got one for my dog when traveling so I can find her if she gets lost. Works great.
Might want to look into RTracker.
My dad has a Phillips Lifeline. It has a fall detector as well as GPS tracking. It is worn around the neck and even in the shower.
