Depending on what stage their in using any phone slows down until they stop remembering how to use it at all. They cant answer it if a button needs to be pushed and they cant dial numbers.

Hi. I don't have any advice but this is one of our top challenges. It is SO hard. My dad can usually answer his iphone and very occasionally use it to make a call to me. I deleted every contact from his phone who I don't know personally (just leaving people aware of his situation). That way, if he calls someone accidentally from his contacts, they can let me know if there appears to be an immediate problem. We practice making and answering calls but he can't remember the info for more than a minute. We considered a simple flip phone instead, or even a landline, but at this point, I think any change would backfire. That being said, I can't take away his phone yet because he would feel insecure without it. It's super frustrating. My best to you.

I have Alzheimer's & I still have my cell phone. I'm sure as I progress that may have to change but I believe it's been a year & a half since I was diagnosed.
