ALZ Id Bracelet/dog Tag
Does anyone have recommendations for identity tags for your loved one? As my husband forgets our phone number and address, I know he needs to wear some identification in case he gets lost. I doubt he would wear the bracelets that give your information and are visible to others, but is there a dog tag type ID he could wear around his neck that wouldn't be as visible? Any suggestions for brands?
Amazon sells medical Id tags they will engrave them with name address phone number and medical conditions if you have a problem with your loved one removing them like I did just pin them on with a safety pin to the back of the shirt collar on
As my husband always carried a wallet, and still wanted to, I had the information in there. He could never even stand a watch through his life so I new the bracelet would not work. That was also a worry for me when we switched to sweat pants. Living in a small town, it was less of a worry for me. I would suggest even contacting the police and giving them a picture of him and encouraging them to call you if they see him out walking alone.
The Fitbit and apple watches have the ability to track your watch, so they could be used as a tracking device also if he will wear a watch, however they are more expensive that dog tags.
I got one made up through the Internet for myself. That was in the early days when I could leave Jackie alone for a while. It had our emergency support service phone number and my carer ID number on in case I got ill or in an accident so she would be picked up and looked after. Later Jackie had a bracelet. It looked like a woven watch bracelet but no watch. Her details and my contact details were on a piece of card folded within the material. Anyway, the point is that there are online providers of such things.
I think Medic Alert has dog tags. Amazon has a selection also.
