Can Change Of Routine, Food & A Different Person (care Taker) Affect Someone To Have A TIA Or Symptoms Similar? My Mama Is In Stage 2 Of 3.
I recently hired a Home Help woman to care for my mom three hours each afternoon/evening. I finally realized it was taking its toll on me. We took keys to her car away two years ago b/c she got lost a 2nd time while driving. I try to fit everything into one day. Work, gym, mama, husband & my pooch, Tesla. Started working a lot of OT so I quit going to the gym. I was/am spending more time at my mom's each night getting as little as 3 hours of sleep. I take care of all her needs. I have a dramatic breakdown when my sister's menu changes even slightly, unless she requests a change. Breakfast is 2 blueberry waffles and a small glass of milk. Lunch is turkey or ham sandwich, with milk and potato chips, and dinner is ALWAYS a hamburger, Mayo only. Now that her disease has progressed, its not quite as strict of a routine. She eats according to how well she is verbally at communicating her wishes at meals. If I place eggs and toast in front of her for breakfast, there is a real possibility she will breakdown. Now that we are experiencing the later stage, the hurdle is showing her how to pick up the food, small bites at a time, and physically get the food into her mouth. Periodically, I try to introduce new foods just to see how she does. Sometimes she likes it, sometimes not. Even the daily routine can cause a decline. I have to fix my sisters breakfast first, followed by fixing her husband's food. Beds need to be made by the time she's done eating. Any deviation in the routine will just make her angry. To the point of throwing the plate at me. It can be difficult, but the best advise is to enter into her world, rather than trying to pull them back into our world.
Wow tough question I have no idea if TIA and anxiety can be co diagnosed. I never had the change of things throwing my wife off kilter, guess we never had such a ridged routine that it was an issue,
My mom has had two similar instances you describe (shaking on one side, weak legs, sometimes chest palpitations, crying). Took her to the emergency room after the second and they ruled out heart, stroke and infections. Anxiety attack is the only thing I can think of. It happens for herbin the morning. She is at the point where she isn’t recognizing her own home and bedroom any longer and it’s worse in evening and first thing in the morning.
