Good Morning☀️. Our Alzheimer’s Journey Continues With Many Changes In A Month’s Time. Any Suggestions Re Home Hospital Bed?
My husband’s Palliative Care APRN has recommended a hospital bed.
I’m looking for recommendations in regards to types of beds someone may have experienced.
Thank you 🙏
@A myALZteam Member an eggshell mattress is made of foam, and it looks sort of like the inside of an egg carton. it helps to cushion the body, and I think it is cooler than lying directly on the hospital bed mattress. Those mattresses are pretty thin.
@A myALZteam Member: I don’t know what Stage your husband is at, but just in case he’s ready to transition from Palliative Care to Hospice Care: Hospice will provide a hospital bed.
Hospice brought a hospital bed when my husband could no longer climb into our bed. It had an “eggshell mattress” over the hospital bed mattress.
Thank you for the reply.🤗
Ken is on hospice. They will bring out a hospital bed in a couple of days-as soon as we rearrange furniture to make room for it. He can no longer make it up the stairs to our bedroom.
