Any Suggestions On Adding An Additional Lock To The Inside Of The Front Door Of A Home?
My spouse has walked out of our home twice without my acknowledgement. We have a deadbolt and a lock on the handle but he knows how to unlock both. I tried adding an infant safety lock to the handle and he figured it out! I did a Google search and checked out alzstore.com yesterday but it made me feel overwhelmed. Does anyone have any suggestions on their experience, good or bad, and why?
Hi @A myALZteam Member. My device of choice is a cheap motion sensor alarm from amazon. Mine is in the upstairs hallway but they can be fitted anywhere. Sticky pad fixes the motion sensor to the wall and it is paired with a plug-in "doorbell". It's very simple to install. I hear an alarm before husband reaches the top of the stairs if he gets up at night.
My son has autism. When he was little, he would impulsively run outside. So I had a deadbolt the locked from the inside and a skeleton key that I wore as a necklace, that had a breakaway fastener.
@A myALZteam Member, it's only one alarm which is between his room and the stairs. Some nights, I get woken repeatedly, which isn't good. But him falling down the stairs would have me awake a whole lot longer!
