My husband fell last week. He is over 225 lbs., so there was no way for me to pick him up, but I tried to get him in a better position. So, I called 911 and was connected to my local fire department who came in five minutes. The guys got him up and into a chair. Then they took his vitals and checked him out. They really were wonderful! We were lucky he had only minor injuries, but they were ready to call an ambulance if needed.

That was mentioned to me but I have a hard time imagining how it would help me get him up from the floor- he’s 196 pds.
Am I missing something with it?

A gait belt might help. My mom has gotten heavy and are having a harder time because she does not understand how to get up.

Call 911 and ask for a lift assist. I just did that last night and they came and just picked him up, checked him over and put him into bed.
