Question About How To Get A TV Free Meal
I have a question about how to get a dementia patient like my husband to agree to turn off the TV during meals. He absolutely refuses which causes a very difficult meal time. He is focusing on the TV and forgets to eat. He yells at me if I turn the TV off and will immediately go turn it back on.
Boy that's a hard one. Does he like music? You could play a music channel on your TV and that way the TV is still on but music is playing. One of the recommendations for Alzheimer patients is that music helps soothe the mind. Play his favorite music. It might help.🙂
