What Is The Best Laundry Detergent To Use To Get Rid Of Urine Smell?
My mom is in a nursing home and I still do her laundry. Many times her clothes have sat in the basket for a couple of days and they are wet with urine. I can't seem to get the smell out completely. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.
Lysol makes a new product that is a laundry disinfectant. You pour a capful in the softener container. Seems to work well.
I Find white vinegar in the rinse works a treat, and drying in the fresh air.
I use white vinegar in with all of my laundry!
I use a product called Odo-Ban to deodorize clothes that my cat peed on. You can buy it as a gallon of concentrate, then mix it with water in the given proportions. I use the strength given for Pet Odors. That works better than the strength given on the container for laundry odors. It's pretty great stuff.
My Mom isn't to the point yet where this may become a problem. When it does, we'll definitely use Odo-ban. Good luck!
White vinegar is the best to use. I had to throw away several pair of jeans but started putting at least 1 cup vinegar in with arm and hammer odor detergent. I also use the downy fabric softener with the yellow lid. It works!!
