Our favorite internist for me, mom and hubs passed a few years back from multiple myeloma. He told mom she had MCI, but he couldn’t share that with me legally. Hubs and I found a new internist who wants hubs to see neurologist. Mom now has a GP with a PA that comes to her facility. She was originally diagnosed by a gerontologist and a psychiatrist that handled her meds.

It depends so much on the Dr. We use a PCP who expects a neurologist to handle dementia medicines. It works well enough. Sadly my husband's PCP died suddenly and we are adjusting to a new one. Hubby loved the old one.
Some people really like geriatric medicine docs or geriatric psychiatrist.
