My husband told me he had thoughts of beating me up. At that point he was put on medication for agitation. I tried him at home for a month after that. He never acted on that, but there other issues as well that led him to be placed in SNF. He has been there for a year now.

The rage my LO displayed was the final straw in deciding to place him. I did not want to live in fear of being hurt in my own home. I hate leaving him, I feel safe at home today.

I know I have posted this before, but especially for males? You need to have the doctor get him into a geriatric psychiatric ward. They can provide the best mix of medication to keep the violent or paranoid behaviors at Bay. My mom went into one, Medicare paid for up to 60 days and when she came out, I was finally able to place her in a memory care facility because she was violent and paranoid. At one point when she was living with me, she tried to run into the street and I tried to stop her for her own safety. She scratched me punched me spit on me. She didn’t know what she was doing in that moment of course. She was a calmer person when she came out of the jury psych ward and I visited her every day. They took amazing care of her Better than any memory care facility ever did.

Yes, please pursue medicine to help with this. My husband has cocked his arm back and threatened to punch me, but never has. His anger can be intense but passes fairly quickly.
