My husband is the same. He feels very anxious when we go anywhere. It becomes very isolating for us as carers. Can you at least invite people to visit you at home? That still makes my husband anxious but less so than going to other people's homes.

I’ve struggled with people not visiting us more often. Even if your husband doesn’t want to continue after the initial part of the visit, maybe he can lie down so you can continue visiting. That’s what he does when a girlfriend visits me.

My husband is like that, as well. He keeps asking to go out, but when we do, he’s ready an hour later to go home. It’s frustrating.

I think at times my wife would be afraid of the dark and want to leave. As she was a Spanish teacher, I would take her to Mexican once a week to hear Mariachis. When it got dark she was anxious to leave. Also, when others might leave.
