This is a great chart and also we can’t forget that there is also something categorized as mixed dementia. Meaning that a loved one could have, just as an example, my grandmother. She had Lewy bodies and vascular dementia, hallucinated, fell and also had strokes. While my mom clearly had FTD. My uncle Aaron was calm and we suspect had maybe Alzheimer’s.
@A myALZteam Member: Regarding your first question: Chances are that your loved one's brain has atrophy in the Parietal Lobes &/or Occipital Lobes, affecting cognition and causing confusion. If you have a copy of an MRI report, it may tell you what areas are showing atrophy. See the two attachments below.
Regarding your second question: We ALL struggle with this. I was regularly dissolving into a puddle of tears and recently started taking medication, on the advice of my Therapist, which I must say is helping a LOT. Here's a link to the Q&A about that:
