UPDATE Husband was taken into hospital from care home .He had 1 blood transfusion as soon as he got there . Also had another later that evening 22.30 ish , Was to get a iron infusion next day but hospital unable to get till early the day after that so in all 3 days before all treatments done ,Visited him next day & saw his Dr there Expressed concerns re his being removed from a safe inviroment with staff he was used to to a alien one with total strangers ! We all decided that no more hospital stays as not in his interest .They think its a stomach bleed ( small leak) not showing in bowel cancer test & that its not in his best interest to interfer / operate to find something they will not deal with as he is too weak . May be given iron tablets but needs to be discussed with other Dr !

I was recently diagnosed with anemia. I had 2 courses of iron infusion (IV Push) and am no longer anemic. I had no side effects at all.

I have been anemic most of my life and had iron infusions as an adult.
They were very helpful.
