Is this constant sleep, without drug change, a sign of the later symptoms of dementia. Just wondering.

My sister sleeps for 12 hrs and then falls asleep any time she wants. Usually she takes about a 3 hr nap in the afternoon.

It was with my late wife. Sleeping sometimes more than 14 hours a day.
