I Am Wondering What I Do If Husband Can’t Go To Dentist. Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions? Thanks
Sorry I read the question wrong. I see that you are just asking how to get a person to do his or her teeth? In my case, I saw that my mother responded well to a nurse in the hospital who had simply approached mom gently with the spit tray and a brush w a bit of paste already on it and a plastic glass of water, and said to my mom, " can you open your mouth for me and we'll get your teeth washed and then we can [watch tv. Or READ or whatever]. AND my mom does . SAME time each nite. ON bad days (mood) , she will refuse so we don't make her. We just leave her peacefully for a while and in about 1 hour she has forgotten fhe mood and enjoys the attention. At times we just give up. A cavity has started on one lower tooth but the mobile dentist puts something on it to slow it as , at my mother's age , pulling it wouldn't be good. IT IS so important and we tell her often she is lucky to have her teeth and it is so good she flosses (lets us ). We learned not to make toothbrushing time a fight because she will win .
I just set up my dad with a MOBILE PCP, dentist, dermatologist, optometrist, and podiatrist, all at his AL facility. It's been a long process but worth it. Some are not in-network with his health insurance, but the private pay cost is actually close to the cost of me having to hire a caregiver to take him to the off-site in-network doctors who he used to go to. I have a lot less anxiety with this set up as well. My best to you.
I think you do then want to look on Google for a MOBILE DENTIST in your area. They can do most anything from xrays to cavities to teeth and gum cleaning to tooth removal. Let us know if you want help looking one up in a specific area.
MAYBE you have mobile dentists who will come to house for cleaning, denture making, and even pulling teeth. I have used mobile dentists and also eye doctors (for tests and glasses). Maybe Google is the fastest way to see if you have any in your area. LET us know if this helps or perhaps we can help with the search.
Hi, Thanks so much. The thing is he brushes his teeth. However, he always went to dentist twice a year. I am concerned about not being able to go to dentist. If there is anything that he could do to replace dentist.
