I filled out pages of financial records they said we still had too much total, when SSecurity is deposited yes it looks like extra but at$13,410.93 it isn’t long till I won’t have anything to live on, my SS is only $780 a month

I'm in the process right now. Reach out to Catholic charities. They help with everything. They even gave me phone number to free law advice about Medicaid food stamps etc. very helpful. I live in New York, Nassau county and for Medicaid you are allowed to have your ncome of 1680.00. And no more than 30,000 in combination of bank and assets. Properties, IRA. Etc. I hope this helps. We are all in this fight together ♥️

Finding a way to pay for a spouse's memory care is just tragic and upsetting. I am just starting to look for a facility for mine because I am so frustrated with having to be with him 24/7. He looses everything. I have put tile trackers on all the important stuff, but didn't get one on his hearing aids (not even sure how to do that) but now they are lost. The constant search for everything just is non-stop. I too am looking at finances for self pay as allot of places don't take Medicaid. He may have enough income to last one year, but I don't know. Our healthcare system is so broken. Medicare that we paid into all our life doesn't help at all with payment for facilities. Some Elder care attorney's are just taking advantage. It is so sad and wearing. Some days I just go to bed as I can't take much more.

Vern is out in state of WA , it’s complicated we were part time from SD for years over 20, he retired in 2000 , went back for our 6 mos then I got the diagnosis that I had cancer I drove back to Sd as they had an opening in Rapid City, SD where we lived, but I flew up in Dec of 2021 before I started treatment and didn’t think he was getting the care I thought he should, I paid for our daughter in Wa find a,place and fly out get him and back, he is 4 miles from her. So I fly out, so I am working with him a resident of WA , when I can’t live by myself healthy I will move out but at this time living in our home here is way cheaper than a place in Vancouver , so I am caught in Between a rock and hard place like all of us. What I have found out is you can have a car and a house and out there ispts $60,000 , so I am a little above and so worried
