My Husband Has Been Diagnosed With Dementia, Altz. About A Year Now.

Walking means shuffling feet, memory loss while doing something, not sleeping well, but the worst is the mood swings! It’s like he’s bi polar. Some days are fine, others horrible! I know he could become violent, his frustration is so bad when things go wrong for him. I just walk away, and try to continue as normal. These moods can last up to three days, and then all is okay again. Am I alone with this experience? Help please.

Contact your doctor, there’s medication that will help.

I'm so sorry . There are " mood leveling drugs". I'd investigate with his doctor before your husband becomes violent. 3 days is a long time for a mood to last.

We have entered a new " easier " stage. We changed medicines a couple of times. Right now we are able to attend church and he isn't as frustrated! I'll take it!!! Thank you Lord
