I have been reading about the connection between metformin and dementia. My dad has diabetes and has taken it for years. Is there anyone that has had a connection like this? Just wondering.

Hubby's geriatrician said he felt metformin was less an issue than the negative effect of diabetes on blood vessels in the brain...this predisposes someone to vascular dementia.

My husband got lost on his bike , don’t take it for granted . I called and he answered I said I am home and coffe is ready , he laughed and said I think I am lost, I said go to the nearest sign and read it to me, we live in AZ in the winter so when he said he could see overpass going o to the other part I knew he was in one of the two places 😢😢😢

There is a known association between diabetes and Alzheimer's. My husband is taking part in a study using a drug licenced for diabetes (liraglutide). The theory behind this is that there may be abnormal glucose metabolism in the brain in people with Alzheimer's disease.
