Caregivers Needed, I Can't Do It Alone
I need mom-sitters for running errands and to care for mom in home while I get married, but getting married on 11/05/17....please help!
If she has medicaid coverage, they will pay for a Personal Care Assistant to help with the activities of daily living. Check with your local Alzheimer's Resource Center. They should be able to direct you to the agencys that coordinate this care. They will provide the assistance with or without medicaid, but it can get expensive. They also provide chore services (housecleaning, yard care, etc) and respite care ( basically sitting with her and helping with whatever she needs will you take a break, or run errands, etc.) These are agencies that work as a go between for you, your loved one, and medicaid or insurance companies. They will in some cases pay a wage to the family member who is the caregiver, or they will provide a trained caregiver to come in and help. If your Alzheimer's resource center doesn't have the information, any of the Home Health Care agencies can help, or direct you to who can.
Hi, if you don't have any family that can help you, I'd check out some care giving companies. They can be expensive. Just for sitting can range from $20 - $23 per hour. I had to hire a company to help with my mom, who has dementia, after she fell at the assisted living an fractured her foot. Peace of mind out weighed the expense for me. Don't forget to take care of yourself. Especially since you're getting married! Congratulations! <3
