I try to take him out or lucky enough he plays golf a bit , but if he has his mind fixed on it I cannot move him ,my Daughter says just stop him. I said anytime you like you can come and give it a try !!!! I now give up and will just hope he gets to the point where he loses interest , but also this means he has got worse ,you cant win ,,Just a Day at a time , its the only way to carry on Big hug from me , xxx

its a double edged sword . I want him to stop fixing things but realise that that means he is losing interest in things , it is such an awful thing we have to live with , Big hug and a day at a time xx

My husband did this ALL THE TIME. He would take things apart to "fix" them, then have no idea how to put it back - get all angry if I tried to help, take forever to do something simple. I had to call repair people on a couple of these "fixes". As his condition worsened, his fixing mostly stopped. If he started to get worried about something I would tell him that I have already called the repairman and he will be here Tuesday to fix it. This always makes me sooo very sad. All our married life (39+) he could build, or repair anything! Now, he cant even hang a picture. :(

I wonder if it would help if you went to a thrift store like Goodwill or City Mission and picked up some items for him to work on. Maybe bringing something like a clock radio or a nightstand with sticky drawers to him showing him the problem or just saying this doesn’t work right, do you think you could try to fix it?
